By 2045, digital and physical systems are deeply intertwined.
Technology no longer prioritises efficiency alone, but nurtures autonomy, exploration, and wellbeing.
Discreet, context-aware companions listen before they act.
They remain quiet until needed, gently challenging assumptions and supporting reflection, creativity and growth instead of consumption.
Transparency and explainability are now core ethical and legal principles enabling trust.

I explored 3 distinct project concepts in my speculative future. Combined, they allowed me to explore how empowerment manifests across creative, physical, and cognitive domains — and to understand the ethical tradeoffs in each.

Aurea was created from the growing concern that as we rely more on digital systems and AI, we may be slowly losing cognitive engagement, critical thinking, and trust in our own abilities.
It's a reflective digital companion designed to strengthen reasoning, articulation, and openness — rather than replace thinking.

Visualising a future design practice
A concept for adaptive interfaces and a digital companion explore how my professional identity could become contextual, responsive, and relational. The speculative CV and website are meant to be less of a prediction but rather reflect my values as a designer.

Website concept
Lumen, a digital companion embodying my practice serves as the entry point to my speculative website. A fluid, iridescent lightfield - reflecting an adaptive, atmospheric practice, and grounded in emotional and cognitive wellbeing
In this future, visitor’s own companions connect with Lumen, opening into a landscape of coloured frequencies, each one representing a dimension of my work. The ‘About’ frequency sits at the centre, woven from all colours. If the visitor remains still, Lumen begins guiding them through the frequency that resonates most.

REFLECTION & LEARNINGS
Building foundations
Building foundations
This project was intentionally exploratory.
Instead of focusing on a final product, I have a body of research and value framework that will inform my final year university work.
To me the work isn't unfinished but preparatory. Now I feel equipped to make more intentional design decisions as I move forward.
